"desired user name:" Enter the user name you would like to use on this site. You can use alphabetic characters (a-z and A-Z are different), numeric characters, and underlines (_). If your chosen
user name is already in use, you will have a chance to choose another one.
"desired password: " Enter the password you want to use. Any characters are acceptable here. For security, it is suggested that you DO NOT use a single word that could be in a dictionary.
Your password must be entered twice for verification reasons. It will be stored using one-way encryption. If you lose it, the system CAN NOT provide it to you.
However a "reset password" option will be available. To use this, you will need to provide the answer to your secret question.
"show password on confirmation page:" Checking this will make it easier on you by having your password visible on the confirmation page. This is NOT a good thing to do if
you're using a public computer, as someone eles may see it.
"create login cookie on this computer:" Checking this will create a cookie on your computer containing login information. You should NOT do this on a public computer, as someone else
will be able to use your account.
"real name:" Enter your real name in case the webmaster needs to contact you. This is NOT given out to anyone else.
"email address:" Enter your email address in case the webmaster needs to contact you. This is NOT given out to anyone else. You are asked to enter this twice to be sure you got it correct.
"security question:" This is the question we will ask you if you need your password reset. It should be one you can easily remember the answer to, but hard for someone else to quess.
"security answer:" The answer to the above quesition. You will need to give this if you lost your password. It will be stored using one-way encryption. If you lose it, the system CAN NOT provide it to
you.
